What’s in a name?
“From the Hill” is actually what my last name, Vanden Heuvel, means in the Dutch language.
It’s the name that was carried over by my ancestors from the Netherlands to the United States. With this name has come stories of people and places, both here in my home, and from lands I have yet to step my feet in. With my name has come histories of struggle, resilience, and hope—and it is what I will attempt to bring into light with this podcast—not just sharing my story, but the stories that shape both you and I in this world.
