Sawyer Vanden Heuvel

Sawyer Vanden Heuvel currently serves in Sioux Falls, SD as the Director of Communications for the South Dakota Synod, ELCA. Sawyer is also a Master of Divinity student at Luther Seminary in Saint Paul, MN and candidate for Word and Sacrament ministry in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

Sawyer received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 2012 from Augustana University with a major in Business Administration. Prior to serving the South Dakota Synod, he worked in the banking and marketing industries. Freed by God's grace, and as a member of the body of Christ, Sawyer has a passion for serving the neighbor and using his voice to stand up for the most vulnerable among us.

As a future pastor of the ELCA, Sawyer seeks to create intentional Christian communities where all are welcome, fed, seen, and heard at Christ's table as God's beloved children.
